When working with couples, I am not looking to assess who is at fault. Instead we explore the dynamics and patterns that have caused the relationship to break down. I teach couples how to build safety, trust and vulnerability in their relationship. Together, in session, we repair the emotional connection that lets each be known by the other.
At the beginning of the recovery process, I will help you navigate the chaos of structuring your relationship and or family life to minimize the damage and maximize the energy needed for recovery work.
I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples, which originates from our understanding of attachment along with spiritual practices. EFT teaches couples how to recognize the deeper emotional dynamics that are happening between them (often below the surface) and how to emotionally reach for one another in ways that create safety, attraction, connection and joy.
Twenty years of working with people as a pastor allowed me to see so many trapped in shame, secrecy and hurt caused by sexual addiction. I didn’t have the time needed to work with people until they were free. I decided to become a licensed counselor to help bring people and marriages into recovery and healing.
